Major Redesigns 2022–2026
A full reconstruction of the last of the sandbelt courses, with a design history tracing back to Charles Alison. Reopened in 2026 and quickly rated #18 in the country.
Huntingdale was the last of the sandbelt courses built, just as the Second World War was coming to an end, but the land in Oakleigh, once home to the Melbourne Hunt Club, was fortunately just as good for golf as it was for hunting foxes. It features nicely contoured sandy ground and a combination of bracken fern and tea tree scrub. With a design history going back to the great British architect Charles Alison, well known for his work in Japan at Hirono and Kawana, we are excited about what the future holds here.
In 2022 we completed a full review and devised a plan to reconstruct the golf course. Some holes involve the restoration of lost features or elements of Alison's original plan, while in other areas we are creating new design features, but in every case we hope the course can reclaim its place amongst the upper echelon of sandbelt courses.
Course construction took place over two years and the course opened for play in February 2026. Golf Digest recently rated the course #18 in the country, after previously being ranked #53.
