New Courses
Luling plays like a traditional British links, out and back and mostly two holes wide. We moved a great deal of dirt to shape a natural looking links landscape, then routed holes across it to capture the quirk and unpredictability of the real thing. Small pot bunkers with large spheres of influence mean that on firm, bouncy ground the golfer must flirt with trouble to gain any advantage.
The routing of Luling resembles a traditional British links, playing out and back and, for the most part, two holes wide. Some of the crumpled ground felt reminiscent of a course built far closer to the ocean than one in Central Texas, and that became the source of inspiration. Ironically, we moved a great deal of dirt to create a natural looking links landscape, then routed holes across the newly shaped land to mimic the unpredictability and quirk you generally find on a traditional links.
For the bunkers we built small traditional pots but with large spheres of influence, so that on firm and bouncy ground the golfer must flirt with trouble to gain any sort of advantage. A handful of other sprawling hazards cut into the high points of the property pay homage to the great old photos of the Cardinal bunker at Prestwick. Course #2 is scheduled to open in late 2026.
