Major Redesigns 2025
A masterplan for the West course at the heart of the Adelaide sandbelt, a Vern Morcom layout, ahead of construction in the next couple of years.
Located in the heart of the Adelaide sandbelt, the original Grange layout dates back to the 1920s, but it was not until the 1950s that the course we largely know today as the West was built. The club engaged the services of course superintendent turned designer Vern Morcom, a man we are very familiar with, having worked on many sandbelt courses he heavily influenced, as well as Rosanna and Spring Valley, which he designed. Over the period of a decade, Vern rebuilt the West course and turned it into one of the best in the city.
The course plays across gently undulating terrain, with the highlight being the sections of duneland that help make holes like the 1st, 3rd and 17th among the best on the property. OCM commenced a Masterplan for the course in 2025, with construction expected to commence in the next couple of years.
