Major Redesigns 2017–2018

Yangtze Dunes near Shanghai was our first major renovation in China. We focused on the green complexes and bunkering, the weakness of the original design, reworking them for both beauty and strategy. The result is unlike anything in mainland China, holes winding through artificial dunes with every kilometre of cart path removed to promote walking golf. The rebuilt course opened in 2018.

Yangtze Dunes, near Shanghai, was our first major renovation in China. Our design focused on improving the green complexes and bunkering, the weakness of the original design, from both an aesthetic and a strategic perspective. The redesigned course is unique in mainland China, its holes winding through artificial sand dunes and promoting walking golf, with all 6 kilometres of cart paths removed as part of the work.

The course offers a firm test for the very best players while giving members a fun and varied round. OCM (then OCCM) were engaged in 2017, and the rebuilt course opened for play in 2018.
